Georgia Unemployment Rate Hits 16 Year High

(WSB Radio) -- Georgia jobless rate reached its highest level since April of 1992, with unemployment in October at 7%. The state Department of Labor reports the rate was up 2.5 percentage points from October of 2007. Over the past year the number of payroll jobs in the state declined by more than 61,000, the biggest October to October decline ever recorded. And no one sector was safe.
