Election '08: Term Limits and Congressional Debates
Over the past year, Texas Public Radio has been your guide on the road to the White House. Now as Election Day nears, we are making sure you are informed on the issues that affect your city and state. Tune into KSTX 89.1 FM at noon on Friday, October 10 for a live roundtable debate on term limits for the San Antonio City Council moderated by Texas Public Radio’s Terry Gildea. The debate will feature Mayor Phil Hardberger and Bob Martin of the Homeowner Taxpayers Association. Participate in the debate by emailing your questions to termlimits@tpr.org. On the congressional front, KSTX 89.1 FM will air two live congressional debates between State Representative Rick Noriega (D) and incumbant Sen. John Cornyn (R). Tune in on Thursday, October 9 and 16, at 8 p.m. to hear the candidates’ positions on the issues that affect the Lone Star State and the nation as they compete for a seat in the Senate. AccessAbility Fest 2008, October 12
Texas Public Radio is celebrating National Disability Awareness Month with a number of member organizations and business that eager to serve persons with disabilities in our community. Join us for AccessAbility Fest 2008 on Sunday, October 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Institute of Texas Cultures. We're sharing information, resources, ideas and support between people with all types of disabilities in an effort to highlight organizations and businesses that provide these services and to advance public attitudes, awareness, respect and consideration for the success of persons with disabilities.
