What will 2009 hold for you?
We are at the beginning of 2009 and the good news is that if you're reading this you're still with us. The bad news is your 401K may very well be on life support.
Resolutions New Year's resolutions, also called "Things I Wouldn't Bet On" are sometimes set up to fail. Don't use it for a vent about what you didn't accomplish of last year's resolution list but rather be practical. Instead of saying "I'm going to lose forty pounds in two weeks," try saying "I'm going to lose two pounds in forty weeks."
Attainable? I think so. My buddy Franco who's a retired hippie is a true child of the sixties. He went to Woodstock and Atlanta International Pop Festival (1970) where he saw Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Allman Brothers, Johnny Winter, Captain Beefheart (remember him?) and according to Franco, Jesus a few times. He has the short-term memory of stapler.

Burglars burn DeKalb businesses
Vandals burglarized and set fire to several businesses in a Chamblee shopping center early Thursday morning.
The burglars forcibly dislodged the plate windows from one business, raising the concern of an explosive device. The Chamblee police arrived at the Chamblee Center at 3146 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road at 7:30 a.m. said Lt. Steve Harris.
There, they found a third floor employment agency smoldering, with its four floor-to-ceiling plate windows seemingly blasted out of the wall. Both fire fighters and the DeKalb Bomb Squad Unit were deployed.

Thieves steal 200 vases from Stone Mt. cemetery
Thieves have stolen about 200 bronzed vases from a Stone Mountain cemetery over the Christmas holiday, with DeKalb County police telling cemetery operators that they have asked scrap metal dealers to be on the lookout for anyone trying to sell them.
"It just makes me angry," Melwood Cemetery spokeswoman Cheryl Brown said. "They're stealing from the dead, but they're hurting the families, too."
The vases are used to hold flower tributes and are located on top of grave markers. Brown said the thefts were discovered on Christmas, when a family reported that the vase on the grave they were visiting was gone.
